The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2026. Application Fee
The application fee can be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, and RuPay Debit cards. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are fully exempted from the fee payment.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit for all posts is 18 to 30 years. Candidates must have been born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2008. Standard age relaxations apply:
- SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
- OBC Candidates: 3 Years
- PwBD (Unreserved/EWS): 10 Years
Qualification
Candidates must possess a Master's degree from a recognized University. The standard educational requirement is:
- Master's Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject (or vice versa).
- Translation Requirement: A recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa, OR two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
Selection Process
Two-tier examination comprising a Computer Based Test (Paper-I) and a Descriptive Test (Paper-II).
The selection process consists of two major stages followed by Document Verification:
- Paper-I (Computer Based Examination): Objective type test consisting of General Hindi (100 Marks) and General English (100 Marks). There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Paper-II (Descriptive): Translation and Essay writing (200 Marks) designed to test the candidate's translation skills and writing ability.
- Document Verification (DV): Conducted by the respective User Departments allocated to the candidates.
