Selection Process

Selection will be based on a Computer Based Examination (CBE) followed by a Skill Test (if applicable) and Document Verification.

The selection process for SSC Selection Post Phase XIV (14) is strictly based on the provisions contained in the Recruitment Rules of the specific post. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of scrutiny based on their score and merit in the Computer Based Examination (CBE). Depending on the number of vacancies, the shortlisting ratio will be 1:30 for up to 5 vacancies , and 1:15 for more than 5 vacancies (subject to a minimum of 150 candidates). Candidates must score above the minimum qualifying marks to be considered: 30% for UR , 25% for OBC/EWS , and 20% for all other categories.

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)

  • An Objective Type Multiple Choice examination. Marks scored by candidates in the CBE, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by the Commission, and these normalized scores will be used to determine the final merit and cut-off marks.

Stage 2: Online Scrutiny of Documents

  • Candidates who are shortlisted from the CBE are required to upload self-attested copies of all supporting documents regarding their Educational Qualification (EQ), Experience, Category, Age, and Age-relaxation on the SSC website.

Stage 3: Skill Test (If Prescribed)

  • Skill Tests such as Typing, Data Entry, or Computer Proficiency Tests will be conducted where prescribed in the Essential Qualifications. These tests are strictly of a qualifying nature and will only be conducted for candidates found eligible during the online scrutiny stage.

Stage 4: Document Verification (DV)

  • All qualified candidates found clear and eligible at the Scrutiny Stage will be called for Document Verification. The DV will be carried out directly by the concerned User Department/Organization to which the post belongs, verifying the original documents against the information furnished in the application.
